Dec. 6-13: Second Annual Eat Local Week, Austin
Edible Austin magazine will host their second annual Eat Local Week , Dec. 6-13. This event encourages Central Texas restaurants to feature an entree or menu item that is primarily made of identified, locally sourced ingredients. Proceeds benefit Urban Roots , a local youth development program where young people, ages 14-17, learn about organic farming and hunger in their communities and donate what they grow to local hunger relief efforts. Participating restaurants will receive publicity, printed materials and media opportunities. The restaurant that raises the highest amount of donations will receive a 1/4 page ad in Edible Austin. To participate or for more information,  go to www.edibleaustin.com or contact Marla Camp, event organizer and publisher of Edible Austin, at (512) 441-3971.
