• The GO TEXAN logo can be used on product packaging and promotional materials, including brochures, Web sites, flyers, point-of-purchase items, catalogs, advertisements, etc., for any product that qualifies for membership under the GO TEXAN eligibility rules. Gift basket companies can use the logo on gift baskets comprised of GO TEXAN products. Associate members can use the logo when promoting GO TEXAN member products.

• The logo is a registered certification mark and the design should not be altered in any way. The words "GO TEXAN" must always appear as part of the logo and the font must always be Futura Condensed Extra Bold. When you first join GO TEXAN, you are provided a disc with logos, including options in different colors. If you need another copy, contact Linda Hopson at (512) 463-7568.

• Using the logo to sell, advertise, market or package a product that is not eligible for inclusion in the GO TEXAN program. This includes products processed outside of Texas.

• Using the logo to sell, advertise, market or package a product that is of a quality markedly inferior to that representative of similar products produced in Texas.

• Using the logo on product packaging/labels that can be viewed negatively by the American public, including images or names that could be considered inflammatory, sexist, racist or otherwise potentially offensive.

• Using the logo on product packaging that includes the name of another state or country, e.g., "Georgia Peaches," "Vidalia Onions." The purpose of GO TEXAN is to build recognition for Texas products.

• Altering the look of the logo in any way, e.g., including placing words inside the logo, substituting alternate text for "GO TEXAN," using a different font, resizing the logo in a way that does not retain the relative proportion.

We encourage you to contact us if you ever have any questions on the appropriateness of placing the GO TEXAN logo on your product packaging or using it on your promotional materials. In some cases, GO TEXAN members may have already purchased labels or packaging that incorrectly uses the GO TEXAN logo. If the misuse is minimal, the member can continue to use the labels and/or packaging with TDA approval until replacements are needed.

The companies listed below have been sent the artwork and, have worked with many of our companies in the past. Some keep rolls of stickers on stock and most will not charge an additional set-up fee but, please contact to verify. The department does not endorse or encourage the use of any particular printer. You may wish to check with your own printer for a similar arrangement.

PLU Stickers
The GO TEXAN Product Look-up Unit (PLU) sticker was introduced at the HEB Hancock Center in Austin on May 27, 1999. This exciting venture was done specifically for the produce industry to provide consumers with the state origin of all Texas produce at a glance. These stickers must be made with Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved adhesive and vinyl for direct food contact.

If you are interested in the sticker for your product, the companies listed below have the GO TEXAN PLU artwork and are FDA approved. Each PLU sticker will be printed with product name and specific PLU number.
