Survey Findings 2006
- Nearly 70 percent of the respondents, primarily small business owners, employed between 1 to 5 people.
- Some 36 percent of GO TEXAN members indicated that "E-commerce" was an important part of their business, exactly tripling the 12 percent reported in 2003.
- Nearly 80 percent reported that GO TEXAN enhanced their marketing efforts.
- More than 85 percent of members use the logo in their advertising and product labels.
- Of the responding members, about 67 percent reported annual sales of less then $250,000.This figure is up 15 percent since 2003-04, indicating that the GO TEXAN program is increasingly effective at reaching smaller-sized agribusinesses.
- Almost 80 percent of GO TEXAN members were able to estimate sales increases attributable to membership.
- Nearly $50 million in gross sales increases is directly attributable to GO TEXAN membership.
- Sales increases from membership represent nearly $90 million in economic values to the Texas economy.
- There was a return on investment for direct sales of more than $24, and direct economic returns of nearly $43 per $1 of state funds invested in GO TEXAN.
