On October 1, 2008,
Texans across the Lone Star State enjoyed Texas cuisine while helping neighbors in need.

On this day — the first day of Texas Wine Month — participating members of the Texas Department of Agriculture's (TDA) GO TEXAN Restaurant Program featured special Texas menu items. Many also contributed a portion of the day's proceeds to food banks across the state, in support of TDA's Texans Feeding Texans initiative.
